In my Scallop potatoes recipe you will notice some shortcuts when it comes to the amount of time and preparation but not in flavor.
- 400g or 3 medium size Yukon Gold Potatoes
Cut potatoes 1/8” or 1/4” thick .I use a knife but you can use mandoline slicer.
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 Tbsp Flour
- 1/2 tsp Garlic salt
- 1 Tbsp Butter
Melt half of the butter in microwave and the other hal cut it in small pieces.
1- Put the thinly sliced potatoes in a 9 inch round baking dish .
2- In a small bowl put flour, garlic salt and 1/4 cup of the cold water.
3- Use a whisk to mix well until flour is completely dissolved, less then a minute. Add the mixture and the melted butter to the milk.
4- Pour the mixture evenly over potatoes.
5- Add the butter pieces over.
6- Cover tight with aluminum foil
7- Bake in 475 degrees preheated oven for 28 minutes.
A side note: I tried to keep the recipes in lower calorie side then the usual recipes. My family enjoys it just the same. They don’t miss any flavor since it tastes creamy like it should. Of course if you like you can add more butter or even cheese.
Calories : Potatos 416, flour 25 , whole milk 75, butter 100 = Total Calories 616. As for serving size since I use three potatoes you can serve three servings . Each serving 205 calories.
